Women’s Book Club
August 24 @ 11:00 pm - August 25 @ 12:00 am
An event every month that begins at 11:00 pm on day Fourth of the month, repeating indefinitely
This informal group meets the fourth Monday of each month from 7:00 pm until about 8:30 pm in St. Mark’s Library. We read a wide variety of books: fiction, non-fiction, classics and new releases, as soon as they are available in paperback. We usually select our books at least two months in advance so everyone has time to read or listen to the audio book.
Book suggestions come from everywhere – newspapers and magazines, word of mouth, or books members have read and want to discuss. The person who suggests the book leads the discussion and we have found there is ample help for this task by checking online. In the summer, we usually pick a month to have Reader’s Choice when everyone reports on what they are currently reading. This is a great time to add to your reading list. In December we usually go out for dinner.
The discussion is always interesting. Everyone has their own interpretation of the content, and it adds to the depth of reading to share these ideas. All women are invited to attend. The books we will be discussing are always listed in the newsletter and you are welcome to join us once or every month.
