FALL OPPORTUNITIES AT ST. MARK

For more information about any of the options below, please email office@stmarklutheran.org.

LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY
The study gathers at 8:45AM on Zoom. It is an open group and you can join the group any time. No preparation is needed. The leaders of this group are lay people. The link to the group is included in the Saturday newsletter with worship links.

COFFEE & CONVERSATION LECTIONARY STUDY
First Sundays | 9:00–10:00am
For those desiring a small-group formation, St. Mark offers Coffee & Conversation, a discussion-based lectionary study. This group meets in the library and gathers around the Bible texts for Sunday. There might be Greek, Hebrew and strange theological terms involved. Don’t worry, no one is sure how to pronounce those strange words.

YOUNG FAMILY GAMES NIGHT
First Monday | 6:00pm Welcome Area (Narthex)
Grab your board games and join our St. Mark families for a night of games & pizza. This relaxed kick off to the weekend is geared towards families, but we welcome any child-at-heart who wants to come. We share our experience living faithful in a life that is busy and messy and challenging. Please Sign up so we know how much pizza to order. Donations accepted to offset cost of pizza.

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday School is led by Beverley Mackey whenever we have children who would like to gather. Traditionally, Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings at 9 AM to listen to a Bible story, talk about faith on the child’s level, share snacks, make crafts, pray, and sing.

YOUTH GROUP
The youth at St. Mark are an important component of who we are as a church. In turn, we as a church play a crucial role in the faith formation of our youth. To this end, our Junior High Youth Group (grades 6-8) and Senior High Youth Group (grades 9-12) meet for fellowship, faith-forming and faith-building discussions, outings and adventures, service projects, VA Synod-sponsored events, youth-led worship services, and more.

CONFIRMATION CLASS
We gather weekly from September to June for 2 hours. Confirmation is a two-year program that culminates on Pentecost in the second year when we celebrate the youth completing the program and becoming adults in faith.

UVA STUDENT LUNCH
The first Sunday of every month after church, we meet for lunch and discussion.
