Originally from Raleigh, NC, Chad moved to Charlottesville and joined the St. Mark community in August of 2019. While he was born and baptized Lutheran, faith didn’t play a big role in his life until age 24, when he fell in with an amazing Lutheran community while pursuing graduate school in London. From this spark grew a passion for theology and for youth and young adult ministry that he is excited to be able to share with the St. Mark community. In his current role, Chad works with our UVA students, youth group, and young families.

Outside of St. Mark, Chad works in renewable energy development at Apex Clean Energy. He holds an B.A. in political science and an M.S. in finance, and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity part-time through Luther Seminary. He lives in an apartment downtown with his fiancée, Sarah, who is a pediatric nurse.
