“Bishop’s Day” is an opportunity for the youth of our synod to learn more about the call to ministry in the church, especially the public ministry of Pastors and Deacons. We are inviting our adult leaders in Virginia, mainly Rostered Ministers, to accompany youth in grades 7-12 to Charlottesville for an afternoon of conversation with the Bishop’s Staff and other rostered ministers of our Synod. This year’s event is on Saturday, March 14th. (NOTE: The original published start time was 1:30, but it has been changed to 2:30.)

We try to send letters of invitation to every youth who has been identified as “Gifted for Ministry” by a small group leader or other youth leader at one of our Synod youth events, but any youth is welcome to attend along with their pastor. If the pastor is not available, the youth leader or another adult can come instead, but we really hope that our pastors and deacons will be the ones bringing their congregational youth.
