grow with us

Learn with Us

Come learn and grow with St. Mark! Programs and opportunities are available for all ages to grow in faith and be involved.

Sunday School

Sunday School introduces the stories and teachings of our faith to children in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. A curriculum with enriching activities helps engage children in the congregation and teachings of Jesus.

St. Mark Preschool

For more than forty years, Charlottesville parents have trusted St. Mark Preschool to provide quality child care and early education, for children ages 2 1/2 – kindergarten.

Adult Sunday School

We invite adults to attend our Sunday gatherings to study the bible together. 9:00 am Sunday mornings September - May in the library.

Women's Book Club

We invite female congregation members to join us the last Monday of each month at 7:30 pm in the library for a lively book centered discussion.

We invite committed members of our congregation, both youth and adults, to affirm their faith.

Youth Ministry

The youth at St. Mark are an important component of who we are as a church. In turn, we as a church play a crucial role in the faith formation of our youth. To this end, our Junior High Youth Group (grades 6-8) and Senior High Youth Group (grades 9-12) meet for fellowship, faith-forming and faith-building discussion, outings and adventures, service projects, VA Synod-sponsored events, youth-led worship services, and more.

Additionally, we offer family events about every two months, such as Christmas caroling, egg coloring, picnics, and game nights. St. Mark is fortunate to have a large and growing population of young families and youth; we are very committed to helping and encouraging these young people to develop deep and lasting roots in faith.

We are in the process of hiring a new Director of Youth and Family Ministry. The Director of Youth and Family Ministry works with the Pastor(s), staff, lay leaders and others to support the spiritual health of the congregation and specifically the youth, primarily middle and high school age. They provide a connection between the St. Mark family and the growing number of youth.
