Beverly Mackey was born in Louisiana, where her father served as a church minister. He later became a missionary to Japan and served there for ten years. After returning to the United States, he pastored a church in Virginia. In the 1980s, Beverly and her husband moved to Northern Virginia. She joined the Lutheran church where her in-laws were founding members and active participants. Beverly became deeply involved in the church community, serving on the Board of Education, teaching Sunday School, and later serving as Sunday School superintendent. She also worked for the Fairfax County Department of Family Services, where she served clients from diverse backgrounds.
In March 2022, Beverly and her husband moved to Lake Monticello to be closer to her daughters and their families. She also has a son who currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. Beverly joined St. Mark’s in 2022.
Beverley Mackey also leads Sunday School whenever we have children who would like to gather.
