John moved to Charlottesville in 2019 where his wife, Yo-Jud Cheng, is a professor at the UVA Darden School of Business. He grew up in a Lutheran household in Tennessee. John more recently lived in New Jersey where he was as a scientist at Merck and currently works from home as a bioprocess consultant. He enjoys spending time with his one-year-old son, Andrew, and with any remaining free time, John enjoys golfing, running, mountain biking, and watching baseball games.
